I know you can export a Roadmap to Microsoft project, but is the reverse possible? We'd like to use the Solution Manager Roadmap to store project related documentation, use Microsoft Project for resource leveling/critical path calculation, and another tool to track time based on WBS elements. I know that we can customize the WBS structure in solution manager, export that to MS Project, then import that MS Project into the time tracker so that everything is in sync. (as per diagram below)
Unfortunately an extensive project plan already exists and there is pressure to import that project plan into solution manager as a starting point and the question has been raised about updating the project plan in MS project and synchronizing with Solution Manager on an ongoing basis during the project. (e.g. Either of the two scenarios depicted below.)

Any and all thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated!!
Best regards,
