customer last key date not updating from f.2b

I run f.2b, documents are created, SM35 batch RFDUZI00 is created, When I execute the sm35, use process/foreground to step thru the screens, I process the GL posting with no problems. when going thru the screens for  customer update (FD02), I see the date from f.2b  is populated in the last key date field, the OK code is /11 (save), but the date is not updated when I display the customer thru FD03.
