Story:
My CFO has a decent PC bought last year. i7, lots of RAM, SSD drive. But it can take up to 2 minutes to open a rpt file, local or network based. Crystal will freeze while it's waiting. The usual cleanup didn't make a difference. CPU isn't spiking, RAM isn't being paged out abnormally, nothing seems to be wrong.
But it's my CFO so I built him a brand new i7 PC, SSD, 32GB of RAM, etc. Brand new. Running Win8.1.
He's experiencing the exact same thing! This is a fresh build, no time yet for detritus to collect. So I logged in as myself on the same PC, and things opened up snappy as they should. Somehow it's tied to his login, but only impacts Crystal?!?!?!
Specs:
Crystal 14.0.4.738 (matches our rePortal server)
Windows 8.1
SSD drive
i7 cpu
32GB RAM
Summary:
Only one user has issues with opening rpt files in Crystal. Other users have no trouble at all.
I doubt this is a CR issue, but it's odd that only CR shows symptoms. If anybody can point me to something other than blaming the version of Windows (since it works fine when I log in), I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!
